Bellybeans was conceived on a 2005 trip back to Appleton to celebrate a friend's
wedding. Six months pregnant and in the middle of a clothing crisis, we discovered that
the area was lacking a maternity boutique that offered stylish choices for moms-to-be. A
thought in Jay's head during that trip left us wondering if we could possibly fill that gap.
3 months after our return to Arizona, we welcomed our first son to the world and made
the decision to return to our circle of family and friends in Appleton to begin our new life.
As new parents, we quickly realized that not only was Appleton missing a fun spot to shop
for maternity wear, but also a children's boutique that offered cool clothing for babies.
The idea of Bellybeans begin to grow larger until it developed into a plan to bring a unique
shopping experience to all the moms of Appleton.
We relied heavily on our lengthy backgrounds in customer service and Lisa's frequent
travels across country, in which her hobby was searching for unique designers that offered
amazing quality clothing. As a mother, Lisa soon came to understand the importance of
not only quality but also functionality and durability of maternity and children's shoes and
clothing. We coupled that with our desire to provide a stylish, hip way for all types of
moms, babies and young children to express their individual style and in October of 2006
we opened our doors and Bellybeans was born.
A second son joined our family in April of 2008 and we have come to realize that it not
only takes a village to raise a child but it also takes a village to raise a business. We have
been blessed to have two amazing boys that inspire us daily, an amazing staff, a loyal
customer base and supportive community, and a helpful circle of family and friends that
always encourage our growth and help us nurture our third child, Bellybeans.
Our missions is to offer our customers practical, yet stylish clothing and accessories and
committing to providing the highest standard of customer service.
